Nothing is certain in these uncertain times, especially what is going to happen regards the stamp duty holiday. There is a lot of chatter about an extension to the stamp duty holiday deadline as to whether it will be stopped, or extended for some, or maybe just first time buyers.
The government is not helping the speculation by staying quiet on the matter, making it difficult for people to plan their future as far as home buying is concerned.
There is no doubt the government is hurting, due to the lack of tax revenue they are losing, and would dearly love to get this sorted.
The government made it clear at the onset that this was a holiday, and not permanent solution, and they have left open the option to taper relief.
The truth is we just don’t know, and I doubt at this stage if they know.
